About Shady Cats
The Fish Aren't Worth Getting Caught
A cat spots a fish on the other side of a platform and jumps over to grab it. Then another fish catches its eye. Seems harmless enough, until a dark version of the cat appears behind it. In Shady Cats, that shadow copies the player's route and follows relentlessly. The longer the cat spends collecting, the more dangerous the chase becomes. The game has five stages, each with a different setting to explore. Fish scattered around the platforms add points, while golden fish improve the score multiplier. Honey jars are harder to resist because they offer a much larger bonus. There's a catch, though: collecting honey attracts swarms of bees that can sting the cat.
Sometimes It's Better to Leave Something Behind
Chasing every collectible can be a bad decision. The shadow follows the player's exact movements, so doubling back through a familiar section may put it dangerously close. Watching the route ahead and choosing a safe jump can matter more than grabbing one extra fish. Fireflies are particularly useful when the chase gets uncomfortable. Their glow isn't just decoration. Collecting one lets the cat zap the shadow and remove it for a short time. That brief break can provide enough room to reach another platform or escape a swarm of bees.
Five Stages, Twenty Two Cats
Normal Mode lets up to four players join the fun. Crazy Mode is a solo challenge with a twist: the opponent is a shadow based on the route from the previous level. Players who repeat their old habits may find themselves caught by their own movements. There are 22 cats to choose from, although some must be unlocked through play. Finding a favorite adds another small goal alongside chasing better scores. Shady Cats has a funny idea at its center, but the chase gives every decision weight. A golden fish might be worth the risk, or it might be the reason the shadow finally catches up. Knowing when to collect and when to run is what makes each attempt interesting.
