About Dash Masters
A Run That Never Stops
In Dash Masters, the character is always heading forward. The course is filled with spikes, blocks, gaps, and other traps, and many of them appear along with the electronic music playing in the background. A jump that looks simple can suddenly become difficult when several obstacles are placed close together.
Getting Through a Level
There is no chance to recover after a crash. If the character hits a spike or another hazard, the level starts again from the beginning. This makes the first few attempts useful for learning the course. After seeing the same section a few times, it becomes easier to remember when a jump is coming and what is waiting after it.
The Character Doesn't Always Stay the Same
Portals can change the character into several different forms during a level. The Cube has the most familiar jumping style, while the Ship has to move up and down through narrow areas. The Ball changes between the floor and ceiling by reversing gravity, and the UFO makes small jumps each time it is activated.
Other forms have their own quirks. The Wave travels diagonally back and forth, so touching the upper or lower edge means a crash. The Robot can jump higher with a longer hold, while the Spider quickly switches from one side of the level to the other.
Portals Can Ruin Your Plan
Gravity portals can flip the whole route around, and size portals change how much room the character needs to get through a section. Speed portals are also important because they can make the course move much faster or slow things down. Jump pads and orbs can provide useful boosts when the timing works out.
Dash Masters is mostly about learning what is coming next. The music gives the levels their rhythm, but remembering the layout is what helps turn repeated crashes into a successful run.
