You can switch between saving for another building and grabbing an upgrade that makes your current setup stronger.

Every so often, a Gilded Donut pops up on the screen. These are not just there for decoration. Clicking one can give your production a serious push. One Golden Donut may activate a 7x DpS boost for a short time, while the Lucky effect can hand over a large number of donuts at once. When your production is already high, one of these bonuses can make the counter jump surprisingly fast.
