About Melon Sandbox

Some games tell you exactly what to do. Melon Sandbox goes in the opposite direction. You start with an empty map and a long list of objects, then decide what happens next. One minute you're stacking crates into a tower, and the next you're launching a melon across the screen with a homemade rocket. Half the fun comes from seeing your plans fall apart in spectacular fashion.

Make Up Your Own Experiments

The item menu is packed with things to play around with. Drop in melon people, pumpkins, stick figures, or regular humans, then fill the map with furniture, barrels, walls, and building pieces. If you're after action, grab a knife, a pistol, a rocket launcher, or enough explosives to level everything you've built. There isn't a "right" way to use any of it, which makes every session feel different.

Build More Than Simple Chaos

The construction tools let you go beyond blowing things up. Wheels, motors, thrusters, pulleys, and buttons can be connected to create moving vehicles, elevators, spinning traps, or strange machines that somehow work. You can freeze objects while building, rotate them into place, and link different parts together until everything behaves the way you imagined—or completely differently.

Keep Finding New Ideas

Characters can also be changed with special syringes that heal them, make them incredibly fast, or even turn them into zombies. Once you've exhausted the built-in content, the editor opens another door by letting you create your own items, skins, and mods. That's what keeps Melon Sandbox entertaining. There isn't a final goal to reach, only another ridiculous idea waiting to be tested.
